Respawn / repopulation of items/plants/animals gives another reason to backtrack a bit after a (long) period of time instead of exploring a region once, cleaning it out completely if you know where all the items are, then never returning (except for wood/pelts/meat). The variance in respawn time should be +/- 25% of the setting for a bit of randomness to the process.Īnimals like wolves / bears / deer already have respawn (and somewhat arbitrary and way too fast for some), so you can't argue both ways to please all players. Ranging from saplings/plants respawn after 75 days, 150 days, 300 days, 600 days, never. As I've said elsewhere, this is yet another thing that needs to be controlled via a slider or config file.
